Wishing for Rain

Sunny Sunday does nothing for your nerves
When all you wish was graying rain to fall
Washing away the salt from your eyes

A half eaten doughnut upside down
Will only make you frown
Your smaller half cheers you by turning it round

Crying takes the wind from your lungs,
The strength from your bones
Perhaps that’s why you’ve been so tired…

Fall asleep to the sound of your tears
Falling from your nose, drowning your pillow wet
Where is the rain you’ve dreamt of
To cloud your saddened silhouette
